How to become a DSD Master
WHAT IS THE DSD MASTERSHIP?
The DSD Mastership is a personalized, 12-month mentorship in:
- Patient digitalization
- Comprehensive and Interdisciplinary treatment planning
- Facially Driven and Guided Digital workflows
- Emotional Dentistry
- Digital Quality Control
Over the next 12 months, we will teach you everything you need to know about how to implement DSD in your daily practice.
With the DSD Mastership you will learn the DSD clinical, technical and emotional dentistry workflow by using the DSD Planning Center® and DSD Lab®; achieving clinical excellence by performing interdisciplinary, facially- driven, guided, digital dentistry.
You can put into practice all you learned at the DSD Residency course with our guidance and help.
Your MASTERSHIP Plan
Follow these 3 steps to become a DSD Master
Attend a DSD Residency 1 or X course: in person or online (R1 & RX Livestream).
Sign up to the Mastership program and gain access to our customized on-demand guided learning experience and extra content.
Present your cases and pass the test. When they are approved, you get your DSD Mastership certification!
12 months access to the exclusive Mastership clinical course in the BeDSD platform.
In this online platform you will find all the content you need to do your Mastership: documentation, online training, live sessions, class recordings, templates ready to use, forums and much more!
12 months access to the DSD Planning Center and DSD Lab services.
Access to a personal concierge WhatsApp group during those 12 months together with the DSD Mastership team.
12 months direct support from our Mastership team (Clinical Consultants and Mastership Coordinators) inside the WhatsApp group.
You will also have access to some 1:1 video calls with the team to discuss cases or topics. * The number of calls is limited. Please ask for more information.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR YOUR CASE?
- Select one case that fulfills the requirements and create a presentation in Keynote or PowerPoint format using the preformatted DSD template. Submit the presentation to the DSD Mastership team
- The case submitted must be 100% digitally planned and executed with DSD, from start to finish.
- The case can be in any specialty in dentistry: single specialty or interdisciplinary, depending on the comprehensive treatment plan selected.
The case must have a comprehensive treatment plan.
It must include everything that the patient needs in order to restore health (in terms of function, biology and esthetics).
- Every step should be planned and designed with the DSD Planning Center. If you are doing restorations (veneers, crowns, onlays, table tops, implant rehabilitations), they need to be digitally planned by DSD and milled/printed/pressed following the same file (copy-paste dentistry).
- Implant surgeries, crown lengthening, ortho and other treatments should also be digitally planned and guided by the DSD Planning Center services (stents, guides, analysis, etc).
We want you to understand our manufacturing workflow to be able to work with your own lab, while maintaining the DSD protocols. And for that reason, you must manufacture the case you submit with our DSD Lab for this certification, including DSD Natural Restorations.
However, for printing products you can use your own printer with our files or your Lab’s printer.
- What we want to achieve through the DSD workflow is for the designed case to be the same in the mock-up, provisional (or interphase) and final result (quality control). For that purpose, we want to keep the plan, position, size, shape and texture of the initial DSD design to maintain the original plan. At DSD, we use natural digital libraries from real people, so modifying the texture by yourself would mean that the natural appearance is lost. If you need to do any modifications, please ask the DSD Planning Center designers to do these beforehand.
- Documentation is very important. Please follow the photo/video document carefully to make sure you have included all the necessary files and slides. Make sure you have facial and intraoral pictures/images from every treatment step. You should also include the Emotional Presentation with the before/after mock-up videos and photos.
- You will also have access to some 1:1 video calls with the Mastership team to discuss cases or topics.

- The case submitted will be reviewed by the DSD Faculty and feedback will be given if any requirements are not met.
- You have 12 months from subscription to present the 1 case presentation for approval, and during those 12 months, you will get full support from our Mastership Mentors (Clinical Consultants and Mastership Coordinators).
- If you think that 12 months will not be enough time to complete your case, you can contact the Mastership Coordinators inside the WhatsApp group to discuss the options available.
After the 12 months of access, there's the possibility to continue using the Planning Center by:
Becoming an official certified DSD Clinic, with all the benefits (discounts, concierge, extra support, online training, marketing campaigns, etc).
According to TIER consumption rules, only access without any other benefits.

Good quality photos and video documentation of the case.
Good quality documentation of the mock-up and Emotional Presentation. Facial integration. Facial portraits and video.
Comprehensive Treatment Plan: everything that the patients needs to restore health in terms of biology, function and esthetics. A summary of the treatment plan and options must be explained.
Good quality clinical step documentation of the case, using all DSD services available for each especially. (i.e. tooth preps, scans, provisionals and temps, perio surgery phases, implant placement, cementation, ortho phases, occlusal adjustment, etc). Both facial and intraoral documentation.
Final outcome documentation. Both facial and intraoral documentation.
Clinical and technical Quality Control and copy-paste dentistry protocol.
The treatment plan, the clinical quality, the decision making, the procedures and the final outcome will be evaluated.
The quality of the content, documentation and presentation layout will also be evaluated.
* If we consider the case submitted needs correction or feedback, you will have to submit an amended presentation or a new one.
The DSD Faculty reserves the right to suspend this certification if at any point any of the above mentioned conditions are not met, or for any other reason not listed in this document.
- PATIENT INTRO: Relevant information about the case incl. chief complaint.
- PHOTO AND VIDEO: DSD protocol.
- CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION: X-rays, CBCT images, perio chart, STL model images, etc.
- 2D DESIGN: Frontal smiling picture: Frame and simulation.
- DSD FRAME SEQUENCE FROM DSD PLANNING CENTER: Midline, incisal curve, gingival curve, proportion...
- 3D DESIGN IMAGES FROM THE DSD PLANNING CENTER PRESENTATION: Ideal pre, Ideal post, etc.
- MOCK-UP IMAGES: Digital design vs printed model/Shell.
- EMOTIONAL PRESENTATION: Images and videos (before/after mock-up).
- TREATMENT PLAN OPTIONS: Explanations.
- CLINICAL PROCEDURE MAIN STEPS DOCUMENTATION: Ortho, surgeries, preps, temps, bonding, etc. Intra and extra oral documentation.
- FINAL OUTCOME PICTURE AND VIDEOS: Intra and extra oral.
* If we believe that any of the 3 cases need corrections or feedback, you will be required to send us an amended presentation.
The DSD Faculty reserves the right to suspend this certification if at any point any of the above
mentioned conditions are not met, or for any other reason not listed in here.
