I work closely with dentists around the world to provide our clients with the best treatment planning for their patients. I’m here to tell you more about this course, how it benefits those with or without experience with dental implants, and how to get started.

What is the DSD Implants course?
The DSD Implants course is an in-person, hybrid course that blends four days of hands-on surgical training, online lectures, and a livestreamed case summary session.
This course, developed by dental implant experts, is targeted to meet your specific needs and preferences with implants. Before the course, you will be asked to complete a survey for us to best understand your experience with implants and where your needs lie, in simple, intermediate, or more complex cases.

Get started with DSD Implants by choosing from the following…
Our goal is to deliver a comprehensive learning experience, encompassing both theory and hands-on practice, all rooted in the principles of DSD. We'll cover everything from DSD concepts to surgical planning, guiding you through each step of the process.
DSD Implants will take place in Balneário Camboriú, in the south of Brazil, and is hosted by one of the area’s most important universities, Instituto de Odontologia das Américas (IOA). In addition to its state-of-the-art clinical training facilities, IOA is also in charge of the patient selection for the course and after-care. This means you don’t need to source your own patients and can rest assured knowing that both during and after the course the patients will receive excellent care.
Who is this course a good fit for?
Whether you have prior implant experience and wish to explore guided surgery more extensively, or if you're already experienced with implants and aspire to tackle complex full-arch cases with challenging scenarios, DSD Implants can meet your needs. This course is ideal for dental professionals who fall under one of the following categories:
Minimal or no experience: You’re new to implants but want to get started learning simple cases. We’ll focus on starting with just two implants, covering straightforward cases, including simple single-unit partials with favorable conditions—ideal for newcomers to the world of implants.
Intermediate experience: You have some knowledge working with implants and maybe control simple surgical procedures but you’re looking for experience with guided implant surgery. We’ll cover everything about guided surgery, from its importance in various scenarios to working with the surgical kit and underlying concepts.
Advanced experience: You have multiple years of experience with implants and guided surgery and you’re looking to tackle more challenging and complex cases. In this case, the instructors will delve into the DSD click guide, addressing everything vital for longer and complex full arch procedures.

DSD Implants is designed to meet you where you are, regardless of whether you’ve started your DSD journey or not. This course is ideal for those who have already learned DSD workflows and techniques in DSD Residency 1 and DSD Residency 2 and are looking for a more practical DSD course. However not having attended a previous DSD course is not a limitation when it comes to benefiting from DSD Implants.
Why get started with implants with DSD?
Starting something new, especially in the midst of a busy clinic, using your own patients as test subjects, and gaining confidence in a new technique is challenging and at times, risky. This holds especially true in surgical procedures. Overcoming these hurdles can be one of the primary barriers for you if you’re venturing into surgery, implants, or complex cases.
A course like DSD Implants is an ideal fit for such a situation. It provides crucial initial support to help you break the ice, boost your self-confidence, and elevate your clinical practice. While the main knowledge will develop over months and years of hands-on experience, taking that first and often daunting step with the guidance of experienced individuals can make a significant difference for your confidence and career.
