DSD Interdisciplinary

The DSD Interdisciplinary is a digital wax up of the upper and lower arches, designed considering a facially-driven, clinical and functional analysis of the patient.

It is our most comprehensive planning option, and includes all the 3D treatment simulations needed for each case, such as ortho, perio, implants, grafts and orthognathic surgery.

It includes the diagnostic findings, treatment plan suggestions, a 2D smile design simulation, and most importantly, a Live Treatment Planning (LTP) session with one of our clinical experts to go through the case, brainstorm our suggestions, discuss treatment sequencing, and make any necessary and/or requested modifications.

It is the only main planning product that includes more than one treatment option, wherever needed.

DSD Interdisciplinary is the DSD main product option for diagnosing, planning, explaining, and motivating patients in comprehensive or interdisciplinary cases.

Our 3D simulations showcase various treatment suggestions, facilitating a deeper understanding of the required procedures. This leads to the creation of a broader treatment plan and enables a more efficient communication with your patients.

You'll receive 6 digital files:

1. DSD Interdisciplinary presentation: a powerpoint presentation, containing all the essential images and videos of the ideal upper and lower smile design, treatment simulations, treatment plan suggestions, and a 2D smile simulation, enabling you to understand what is needed to achieve a facially-driven, functional and harmonious smile for your patient.
2. STL File of the Upper Pre Treatment: the model of the actual situation of the patient overlapped with the DSD Upper, in which the original model is digitally untouched.
3. STL File of the Lower Pre Treatment: the model of the actual situation of the patient overlapped with the DSD Lower, in which the original model is digitally untouched.
4. STL File of the Upper Post Treatment: the model of the actual situation of the patient overlapped with the DSD Upper, in which the original model is digitally trimmed, so the simulation of the final outcome can be appreciated.
5. STL File of the Lower Post Treatment: the model of the actual situation of the patient overlapped with the DSD Lower, in which the original model is digitally trimmed, so the simulation of the final outcome can be appreciated.
6. STL File of the Motivational Mockup: the DSD Upper adapted over the model of the actual situation of the patient, so the design can be additive. This is the STL file you will use for the smile test drive, to help motivate and engage the patient.

Delivery times range from 2 to 5 business days after the Live Treatment Planning session depending on the complexity of the case.

For the correct execution of the planning, we require the following information:

Mandatory

1. DSD Photo Protocol, including 5 photos and video
2. STL file of the upper arch and STL file of the lower arch in occlusion
3. Bimaxillary CBCT in multi-slice DICOM format

Optional (but beneficial)

1. Panoramic X-Ray, or periapical X-rays

This is one of the products that we call a “Pre-Case Acceptance Product” (Design, Plan and Motivate), which means it is one of the initial mandatory products you'l need to order to be able to request any subsequent product, which are the “Post-Case Acceptance Products” (Perform, Restore, Manufacture).
