Aligner movements are far less predictable than ClinCheck suggests. You feel it as cases that don't track the way you planned without you always knowing why.
Retracting the upper arch achieves Class I while shrinking the airway, crowding the tongue, and pushing the jaw joint where it shouldn't sit. Standard aligner software simulates the movement and flags none of it.
Cost and complex clinical explanations doesn't help the patient connect emotionally with their treatment. Without that emotional connection, their decision to proceed can take a backseat to other priorities.
Small errors in staging, attachments, and occlusion compound into longer treatments, tracking problems, and patients who don't refer. The gap between what the software proposes and what the case actually needs is where most cases go wrong.
Every aligner dentist hits cases they're not equipped for: complex bites, interdisciplinary situations, or simply not knowing where to start. Those cases get referred out or turned away, and both cost you revenue.
None of this reflects a gap in your ability. It reflects the framework you were trained in, and how much orthodontic thinking has moved on since.
Free Preview Class
In this free preview class from DSD Aligners, Daniel Ramos opens his own published research from 25 years ago — and shows how he was treating Class II patients by retracting the upper arch, where nothing was wrong, to compensate for the lower, where the actual problem was. It's the moment that changed how he plans every case. Watch the 9-minute lesson that opens the course.
The three most valuable things for me about this course have been: gaining confidence in what you can do with aligners, very detailed guidelines and connecting with other dentists who use Invisalign.

I would really recommend this course to anybody who provides Invisalign treatment, whether you are a new provider or a very experienced provider, because the content was really well catered to all levels of Invisalign dentists.

What makes Daniel such an awesome teacher, mentor and collaborator, beyond his depth of knowledge, is the wonderfully inclusive, non-patronising and respectful manner in which he discusses our cases.

Your class was one of the best I have ever taken. Thank you. I am excited to have passion again for ortho. If I were younger I would go back to school to be an orthodontist now.

Learn the facially and airway-driven approach validated across 3,000+ cases by the DSD Planning Center. This isn't another aligner certification. It's a planning upgrade.
Most videos are under 30 minutes. Every module builds on the last, so you finish with a complete framework — not a pile of techniques. Available on desktop and mobile.

Orthodontist & DSD Ortho Clinical Director
For five years I've led the orthodontic team at the DSD Planning Center, developing the protocols at the foundation of this course. What I want to share is not theory.
I started as an orthodontist trained to think about teeth: class one, class two, class three. CBCT changed everything. Once you start checking airway, evaluating TMJ position, and looking at the relationship between roots and bone before planning a single movement, you see things the intraoral view never shows you. Once you see them, you cannot unsee them. That shift is what this course is designed to give you.

DSD Aligners is built to work from the ground up. It starts with the diagnostic and planning foundations that most aligner training skips, so new aligner providers build on the right base from day one. If you're already providing aligners, you're upgrading the framework beneath everything you already do.
DSD Aligners teaches you how to plan cases with any system, from a facial and airway-driven perspective that manufacturer training doesn't cover. If you completed your training before CBCT-based airway analysis and TMJ-driven planning became standard, this course addresses the gap directly.
The course totals 25 hours and 41 minutes across 67 videos, most of which are under 30 minutes. The recommended pace is one module per week over six weeks, but because the content is fully on-demand you can also dip in before a specific case type, revisit a single protocol, or work through everything in a concentrated block.
DSD Aligners is fully on-demand with no live sessions and nothing to miss. Module 4 includes a clinical case demonstration filmed live in the clinic with a real patient, available on demand like every other module.
For orthodontists who want to integrate aligner treatment into a broader interdisciplinary digital workflow, this course provides the framework and the tools. The facially and airway-driven planning approach, the interdisciplinary case sequencing, and the TPS workflow are genuinely additive for orthodontists whose current practice treats orthodontics as a standalone discipline rather than one part of a comprehensive digital treatment plan.
The planning framework in Module 1 can be applied to your next case, and the ClinCheck checklist from Module 2 can be used before your next aligner submission. Most dentists notice the difference within the first few cases, specifically in fewer tracking issues, more confident treatment planning conversations, and the ability to identify airway and TMJ considerations that would previously have gone unnoticed.
DSD Aligners is fully on-demand with no live classes and no cohort start dates. The course is broken into short videos, most under 30 minutes, so you can learn between patients, during a lunch break, or whenever a window opens. There is no schedule to keep and no expiry on your access.
Manufacturer training teaches you to use a specific product. DSD Aligners teaches you how to plan, with any system, from a framework that starts with the face and the airway rather than the teeth. Standard aligner training doesn't cover facial analysis, CBCT-based airway assessment, TMJ-driven planning, or interdisciplinary digital workflows. DSD Aligners covers all of it, developed and validated by the DSD Planning Center across thousands of cases and over 100 clinics worldwide.
Any system, or none yet. The diagnostic and planning methodology applies to all aligner systems and to braces. The course is explicitly system-agnostic throughout Part 1, and Part 2 covers aligner-specific protocols using principles applicable across all systems.
Every video in DSD Aligners is fully subtitled in 12 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, and Hindi. You can learn in the language you work and think in.
Access to the DSD Planning Center requires separate DSD Provider certification, which is a distinct next step from completing this course. DSD Aligners is an excellent foundation for that pathway, and it teaches you how to apply the DSD Ortho methodology independently whether or not you go on to use the Planning Center.
You didn't become a skilled clinician by treating teeth. You became one by treating patients. DSD Aligners gives you the framework to do that fully: from the face, through the airway, across every system and every case type. The protocols are validated, the methodology is proven, and access starts the moment you enrol.
