Details

Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Therapy (SFOT) is an advanced procedure that allows you to optimally enhance functional and esthetic concerns when there is insufficient alveolar bone and compromised arch forms.

A major advantage for patients is that the procedure can significantly decrease the treatment time by more than 50%, and then, combined with clear aligner treatment, this can increase case acceptance.

The procedure also allows certain movements to be done that would not be possible without this technique, and in many cases, the combination with a bone graft on the buccal plate is highly recommended (e.g. xenograft - Bioss).

This product is ideal when corticotomies need to be done to help and allow more aggressive ortho movements, especially for patients with very thin bone biotype.

The guide will allow you to be much more precise and safe when delivering the corticotomy procedure. We strongly suggest that the corticotomies are done with Piezoelectric devices.

Our team of surgical specialists will be able to diagnose and suggest exactly when the procedure is necessary and recommend the need for bone graft, if required, in order to allow the teeth to move to the approved final ideal position.
