Harbor Light Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, Inc.
Brian O’Neill first became interested in oral and maxillofacial surgery when he was referred by his dentist - Dr Saul Moskowitz - to have his wisdom teeth removed when he was a junior at Brentwood High School on Long Island. He met Dr Stan Youdelman, his local oral surgeon, and was amazed by the experience. When asked what was it about the experience that he found most interesting he says “I remember lying down in one room at one moment and then the next thing I remember was waking up in a completely different room at the other end of the building. I remember thinking ‘I have to learn how they did that.'”
A native New Yorker and more properly a Long Islander, Dr O’Neill attended SUNY at Stony Brook as a biochemistry major and then studied dentistry at New York University College of Dentistry, where he earned his dental degree in 1993.
He was very fortunate to receive his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City and completed his specialty training in 1998 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
Dr O’Neill has been Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 2000 and is a member of multiple professional organizations. He has contributed multiple case reports in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He is the founder and director of The Great Black Swamp Dental Study Club of Northwest Ohio – an organization devoted to the continued education and advancement of dentistry for professionals of the northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan region.
Brian’s current focus is on multi-disciplinary digital dentistry, guided implant surgery and incorporating the Digital Smile Design (DSD) workflow into his practice. He truly enjoys collaborating with the extraordinary dental professionals in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan to improve patients oral health and play his part in creating beautiful smiles.
He enjoys spending time at home with his wife and two boys. He follows the New York Mets, Jets and Islanders - and admits that it isn’t always easy. When asked “Ohio or Michigan?" he says - “Neither - I adopted the BG Falcons!”
