Five Things Every Aligner Dentist Comes Up Against.

1

The software says it will work. The mouth disagrees.

Aligner movements are far less predictable than the software suggests. You feel it as cases that don't track the way you planned without you always knowing why.

2

You're planning as Class I without checking the airway.

Retracting the upper arch achieves Class I while shrinking the airway, crowding the tongue, and pushing the jaw joint where it shouldn't sit. Standard aligner software simulates the movement and flags none of it.

3

Half the cases you diagnose never start.

Cost and complex clinical explanations don't help the patient connect emotionally with their treatment. Without that emotional connection, their decision to proceed can take a backseat to other priorities.

4

Your ClinCheck experience is costing you chair time, referrals, and income.

Small errors in staging, attachments, and occlusion compound into longer treatments, tracking problems, and patients who don't refer. The gap between what the software proposes and what the case actually needs is where most cases go wrong.

5

Some cases you don't know how to plan yet. Others you send out the door.

Every aligner dentist hits cases they're not equipped for: complex bites, interdisciplinary situations, or simply not knowing where to start. Those cases get referred out or turned away, and both cost you revenue.

None of this reflects a gap in your ability. It reflects the framework you were trained in, and how much orthodontic thinking has moved on since.

Free Preview Class

Once You See It, You Can't Unsee It.

In this free preview class from DSD Aligners, Daniel Ramos opens his own published research from 25 years ago — and shows how he was treating Class II patients by retracting the upper arch, where nothing was wrong, to compensate for the lower, where the actual problem was. It's the moment that changed how he plans every case. Watch the 9-minute lesson that opens the course.

What Dentists Are Saying About DSD Aligners

Dr. Jeanette Garner
"

The three most valuable things for me about this course have been: gaining confidence in what you can do with aligners, very detailed guidelines and connecting with other dentists who use Invisalign.

What makes Daniel such an awesome teacher, mentor and collaborator, beyond his depth of knowledge, is the wonderfully inclusive, non-patronising and respectful manner in which he discusses our cases.

Orthodontist & DSD Ortho Clinical Director

For five years I've led the orthodontic team at the DSD Planning Center, developing the protocols at the foundation of this course. What I want to share is not theory.

I started as an orthodontist trained to think about teeth: class one, class two, class three. CBCT changed everything. Once you start checking airway, evaluating TMJ position, and looking at the relationship between roots and bone before planning a single movement, you see things the intraoral view never shows you. Once you see them, you cannot unsee them. That shift is what this course is designed to give you.

Module 1 7 videos · 2h 09m

Facially & Airway Driven Digital Orthodontics

See what's inside
  • Build your planning process on the right foundation: understand why the face and airway come before the teeth in every treatment decision, and why this changes outcomes even on straightforward cases
  • Master the DSD documentation protocol for photos, video, STL scans, and CBCT so every case starts with everything needed for comprehensive interdisciplinary planning
Module 2 28 videos · 14h 31m

Aligners Strategies

See what's inside
  • Build a reliable, systematic approach to digital planning using overcorrection rules, custom staging sequences, and CBCT verification so your results match your plan from the first set of aligners
  • Learn when to override AI-generated attachments and follow structured protocols for every malocclusion category from diastemas and crowding to Class II and Class III
Module 3 9 videos · 4h 14m

Adjunct Therapies

See what's inside
  • Replace freehand TAD placement with digitally planned 3D-printed surgical guides — tiny bone anchors used to move teeth that aligners can't move alone
  • Learn expansion techniques including DOME and MARPE to widen the upper jaw in adult patients and improve airway space, and use SFOT and high-frequency vibration to cut overall treatment times
Module 4 8 videos · 2h 45m

Interdisciplinary Planning and the Role of Orthodontics

See what's inside
  • Follow the Emotional Journey Script to increase case acceptance by leading with a motivational mockup before any clinical problem or cost is discussed
  • Use TPS to engineer every orthodontic movement around the restorative endpoint, from implant sequencing and crown lengthening to minimally invasive indirect restorations
Module 5 3 videos · 49m

Course Important Topics Review

See what's inside
  • Review the highest-risk clinical decision points where small planning errors compound into failed cases or prolonged refinement cycles
  • Revisit key protocols including the upper-first planning principle and ClinCheck quality-control checklist as a pre-case reference you can return to throughout your career
Module 6 12 videos · 1h 11m

Clinical Tips

See what's inside
  • Set up every appointment correctly by verifying attachment locations and IPR amounts, test-fitting the first aligner before bonding, and using spot-etching with highly resistant composite to ensure attachments that seat and last
  • Integrate VPro so patients change aligners every 5 days with less discomfort, and learn the correct delivery and removal technique to protect attachments from day one

Questions? Here Are Answers.

Is this course right for a general dentist with no aligner experience?

DSD Aligners is built to work from the ground up. It starts with the diagnostic and planning foundations that most aligner training skips, so new aligner providers build on the right base from day one. If you're already providing aligners, you're upgrading the framework beneath everything you already do.

Is this course relevant if I've already completed another aligner certification?

DSD Aligners teaches you how to plan cases with any system, from a facial and airway-driven perspective that manufacturer training doesn't cover. If you completed your training before CBCT-based airway analysis and TMJ-driven planning became standard, this course addresses the gap directly.

How much time do I need to complete the course?

The course totals 25 hours and 41 minutes across 67 videos, most of which are under 30 minutes. Because the content is fully on-demand you can also dip in before a specific case type, revisit a single protocol, or work through everything in a concentrated block.

Is there any live component?

DSD Aligners is fully on-demand with no live sessions and nothing to miss.

Is this course suitable for orthodontists as well as general dentists?

For orthodontists who want to integrate aligner treatment into a broader interdisciplinary digital workflow, this course provides the framework and the tools. The facially and airway-driven planning approach, the interdisciplinary case sequencing, and the TPS workflow are genuinely additive for orthodontists whose current practice treats orthodontics as a standalone discipline rather than one part of a comprehensive digital treatment plan.

I'm already fully booked and can't commit to a regular learning schedule.

DSD Aligners is fully on-demand with no live classes and no cohort start dates. The course is broken into short videos, most under 30 minutes, so you can learn between patients, during a lunch break, or whenever a window opens. There is no schedule to keep.

What makes this different from the aligner training Invisalign or other providers offer?

Manufacturer training teaches you to use a specific product. DSD Aligners teaches you how to plan, with any system, from a framework that starts with the face and the airway rather than the teeth. Standard aligner training doesn't cover facial analysis, CBCT-based airway assessment, TMJ-driven planning, or interdisciplinary digital workflows. DSD Aligners covers all of it, developed and validated by the DSD Planning Center across thousands of cases and over 100 clinics worldwide.

What aligner system do I need to use?

Any system, or none yet. The diagnostic and planning methodology applies to all aligner systems and to braces. The course is explicitly system-agnostic throughout Part 1, and Part 2 covers aligner-specific protocols using principles applicable across all systems.

Is the course available in my language?

Every video in DSD Aligners is fully subtitled in 12 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, and Hindi.

Can I access the DSD Planning Center after completing this course?

You will be able to work directly with the DSD Planning Center with our Aligners Treatment Planning Service (TPS) without prior commitment.

TPS is the practical co-pilot for everything taught in this course — it lets you apply the protocols to real cases with the DSD Planning Center team working alongside you.

You Can't Unsee This. Start Planning Differently From Your Next Case.

You didn't become a skilled clinician by treating teeth. You became one by treating patients. DSD Aligners gives you the framework to do that fully: from the face, through the airway, across every system and every case type. The protocols are validated, the methodology is proven, and access starts the moment you enrol.
