Direct Restoration Design

A digital design solution for conservative, fully guided direct composite restorations. This product enables precise, aesthetic outcomes based on DSD’s ideal smile design, delivered through STL files or printed templates to support both injected and pressed techniques.

Indications:

- Conservative aesthetic restorations

- Non-invasive treatment over natural dentition

- Alternative to ceramic restorations

- Suitable for additive-only or additive–subtractive workflows

This product is ideal for when you want to deliver a conservative treatment option, delivering composite restorations totally guided by our ideal design , which is more cost-effective than porcelain restorations.

It is delivered over the existing natural dentition and is non-invasive.

Please note that the delivery of reports and files depends on the Planning Center's capacity, availability, and the specific product ordered.

Delivery Times reference for the Direct Restoration Design:

1. DSD Clinics: Up to 3 business days
2. DSD Members and Providers: Up to 5 business days

For us to start the DSD Direct design, you'll need to have added to the case a main design product: either Diagnostic Design, Restorative + Surgery Planning, DSD Upper & Lower, DSD Upper, DSD Lower, DSD Ortho Planning + TPS or DSD Interdisciplinary

For the correct execution of the planning, we require the following information:

Mandatory

DSD Photo Protocol: Includes 5 photos and a video.

- If the previous design is less than 6 months old and there have been no changes in the patient’s mouth, we can work with the previously provided material.

STL Files:

- Upper arch STL (including full palate)

- Lower arch STL

- Both files must be in occlusion

In the Direct Injected option, we will provide two alternatives:

1. Injection Guides: A set of STL files of the DSD Direct stents, which can be printed and used directly for the intraoral injection of composite. These are ideal for clinicians or labs that prefer to manufacture and use the guides without needing physical models. STL files of the Direct Models will be provided for all cases. Currently, compatible with Formlabs printers and their flexible resin.
2. Direct Models: If selected in the prescription form, you will receive:
   1. Direct 1.2 model: a model where the final design is shown on alternating teeth (one with design, one without).
   2. Direct 2.2 model: a model with all teeth showing the final design.

The Direct Pressed option includes a full set of guides for intraoral composite restorations, along with a repair guide. Additionally, a resin dispenser will be included to help you apply the exact amount of composite needed for each tooth.

For both options, Reduction Guides will be included when necessary to assist in preparing the subtractive areas.

These STL files can be used for local printing or sent to a lab of your choice. Both options are designed to precisely guide the direct composite restoration based on the DSD ideal design.
