TPS Refinement

TPS Refinement is an orthodontic planning service by DSD that allows doctors to request additional refinements once all previously included refinement rounds have been used (e.g., the 3 refinements in TPS Comprehensive or the 1 included in TPS Lite).

It includes a post-orthodontic quality control (QC), comparing the patient's current scans with the original DSD ideal design or the simulation previously created in TPS Lite.

The final refinement will be performed in the aligner software, and a summary report will be delivered to the doctor outlining key movements and auxiliary tools planned.

This product should be ordered when:

  • All included refinements in the original TPS product (Comprehensive or Lite) have been used.
  • The patient has completed a previous aligner phase and requires additional adjustments.
  • The doctor wants DSD’s clinical guidance to optimize the final orthodontic outcome before ending treatment.
  • Post-Ortho Quality Control: Within 2 business days from the moment the product is purchased on the DSD website.
  • TPS Refinement (Aligner software planning + report): Delivered within 10 business days after QC approval and case sharing via the aligner platform.

To proceed with the TPS Refinement, the following is required:

  • Upload and send the new STL files of the patient's current situation (post-ortho) to allow DSD to carry out the quality control and comparison with the ideal design or previous simulation.
  • Sharing the case via the aligner platform (e.g., Invisalign, Spark, ClearX, etc.) with DSD as collaborator or provider.
  • The case must be a continuation of a previous TPS Comprehensive or TPS Lite product.
  • A post-orthodontic QC comparing current scans with DSD’s ideal design or prior simulation.
  • A 3D viewer visualizing the comparison between current and previous files.
  • A refinement plan in the corresponding aligner software.
  • A Refinement Report summarizing key treatment goals, suggested movements, and any auxiliary tools (e.g., elastics, attachments, IPR).
