What is the DSD Ortho Planning?

The DSD Ortho Planning is digital planning that uses the DSD ideal design guided by the face, airway and function to help us to move the patient’s teeth in the upper and lower arch and achieve the ideal esthetics and function. It is a very complete product in which the orthodontic treatment is planned in detail taking into account the most predictable movements of the roots, their position in relation to the bone, and more.

This product can be used with any orthodontics system, whether that’s aligners or braces.

Why do you need the DSD Ortho Planning?

The DSD Ortho Planning product connects the dots between the orthodontics, a facial analysis of the patient, and what other specialties can add to the treatment.

In addition, we will test everything digitally in advance – not only the ortho but the restorations, perio and anything else required for the case.

Which Invisalign DSD Planning Center products does the DSD Ortho Planning replace?

Due to a new update, Align Technology will no longer make the software ClinCheck Pro 5.0 available. This is where the DSD tools were present.

This update now means that DSD & Invisalign and DSD & Invisalign + TPS will no longer exist as separate products in the DSD Planning Center online store.

Can I work on Invisalign cases with the DSD Planning Center using the DSD Ortho Planning?

Yes, the DSD Ortho planning is the perfect product to work with Invisalign.

Through TPS, it’s possible to transfer the final ideal position approved in the ortho planning to the ClinCheck, ensuring that the clinical decisions taken will be respected in the orthodontic treatment.

What is the workflow when I order the DSD Ortho Planning product?

First of all the DSD Ortho Planning product is assigned to a patient and our team will start working on the case.

Once the design is complete, we will then upload a presentation with a Viewer and DSD Motivational Mock up file to the website so you can evaluate the case in depth.

Then you need to approve the case. After this, you will need to submit the case on the aligner company platform of your choice and share it with the DSD TPS Team. This way we can adjust the aligner software to plan the case following the DSD Design.

Will I still be able to have DSD as my TPS Provider for my Invisalign cases?

Yes, you can. You will need to share with DSD the Invisalign account ID and the email and address you have registered with Align so we can request that Align includes DSD as your TPS Provider.

After that, you need to accept the terms and conditions inside your Invisalign Doctor Site (IDS).

What do you receive when you order the DSD Ortho Planning?

When you order the DSD Ortho Planning you will receive four digital files.

• The DSD Ortho Planning presentation. This explains every step from diagnosis to planning and everything that is necessary to do for this case. It also contains all of the images you need from the treatment plan.
  
• The Motivational Mock up STL file. In this file you can see the DSD Upper adapted over the model of the patient's actual situation. You can print this file (or ask us to print it for you in the DSD Lab) in order to carry out the Smile Test Drive for your patient.
  
• DSD TPS Final Report presentation. This pdf presentation contains the images and information about the final strategies and plan sent after your last ClinCheck approval.
  
• DSD Ortho Quality Control. This .pptx presentation assesses the progress of orthodontic movements, comparing them with the proposed DSD design.

Who is the DSD Ortho Planning a good fit for?

The DSD Ortho Planning service is designed not only for pure ortho cases but also so you can understand all the procedures necessary in cases that will have restorations or crown lengthenings, etc.

DSD Planning Center clients usually order the DSD Ortho Planning for their cases when they are sure that orthodontics will be part of the treatment. If you order a product such as the DSD Upper for patient motivation, and see that orthodontics will be necessary, you can then upgrade to the DSD Ortho Planning so that we can plan the necessary movements for the case together.

How do you order the DSD Ortho Planning?

The process of ordering this product is done on the DSD website. You need to upload the DSD documentation which includes photos, STL files, and ideally a CBCT and X -rays. Once we receive these, we will begin working on the planning and design before sending you them for evaluation.
