DSD Clinical course overview

What past participants have to say
*The DSD Clinical course was formerly known as DSD Residency 2
"...you can be anywhere you want to be and really immerse yourself in what’s being done..."
Dr Jimmi Patel

What inspired you to come to the course?
“The answer was very simple. 15 years of being a clinician is amazingly rewarding, financially and socially. And in many ways you feel that you are adding value in people's lives.
But still, there was something missing: that personal fulfillment as a clinician, because dentistry can sometimes become very stressful. And COVID ramped that up quite a bit. It was very hard being a clinician and a practice owner at the same time during those three years.
So I wouldn't say we lost passion, but there was a little dent in that passion of being a clinician and business owner. And that’s when we were looking for something. And then I came across DSD as a brand, heard about it for a long time, but never really looked into it.
And then I was just doing a simple research on Youtube and Google, where I found Saghi’s amazing story from the Netherlands and then Sheena’s story, which was amazing. And then I immediately fell in love with, you know, their transformation of the journey. And then looked a bit more deeply into the brand and then saw some of Christian’s video - and it’s an understatement to say that his passion comes across - his videos and his talks. So I felt really good about it and looked into it.
And then I think we took two or three days to make a decision that we are definitely doing DSD Residency 1 and 2 and we jumped right into it. So I think in less than six months we are a DSD clinic. So yeah, that’s just the way it is.”
What was your impression of the course?
“One word, amazing, because they were really immersive three days where a lot of amazing clinicians - and I don’t want to name names - but they all were just amazing. Jesus’ whole approach to his dentistry and his team, his clinic, everything was just really good. Residency 2, my expectation, before coming to Spain was: we are going to learn about - in Residency 1 we learned that, okay, DSD’s workflow is, you know, design first and then execution. And then they use a lot of guides and a lot of quality control checks and all that. So I was expecting that, okay, now these clinicians are going to show us how they use all the digital workflow, how they use all the digital guides and quality control tools.
But then it was much more than that because we saw procedures being performed in the room where we could go and stand and observe it. And then the same procedure is being explained in a very thorough manner by another clinician in a room next door and it was very interactive. Both, there are more than a few clinicians talking about the same procedure at the same time.
So you can be anywhere you want to be and really immerse yourself in what’s being done. And then you pick up a lot of, not only just the knowledge from what DSD does differently, but at the same time the knowledge about the day-to-day tips that, okay, you know, if you do this, it’s going to create an immediate impact in your work outcome.
And you don’t even have to follow DSD or what DSD does. You can be just a general clinician. And still those tips are going to add enormous value in your work. So from that point of view, I think it was just amazing the DSD Residency 2.
Yeah I think, I wasn’t expecting that and that was a pleasant surprise.”

"the most incredibly gratifying and exciting thing that I’ve done in so long in my entire career"
Dr Amanda Canto
Houston, Texas
“My impression of the course? Holy crap, it's mindblowing! I'm sorry but that's the reality. You really can't imagine all of the beauty and excitement that technology - I've always thought it's a sad thing for those of us who have done things by hand - I love to bond, shaping things and contouring things, yet we're in a world where expectations are so detailed now and even with 32 years of doing what i've done and i've done it successfully - there are challenges that arise that now can be solved with digital workflows. So I can only say this was the most incredibly gratifying and exciting thing that I’ve done in so long in my entire career.
I've always thought that I was great at communication but when I listen to Christian, I come here with a learner's mind, because I have to learn a lot.”
